Special Education Needs

Some of our children, at some point during their time at school, will have special educational needs of some kind. In a minority of cases the local education authority may be requested to draw up an Education Health and Care Needs plan. This describes in detail the child's needs and how they should be met. In most cases a child's needs can be met by careful differentiation and adaptation of our normal teaching programmes.

As a school we do our best to meet the needs of every child in the school. If we have any concerns about your child you will be contacted to discuss the support we plan to give at school, and how you can support your child at home. Where necessary the school will also involve outside specialists, such as speech therapists, or our educational psychologist to gain further advice. Parents will always be asked for their permission before a child is seen by an outside agency.
