Robins

Welcome to Robins, our early years foundation stage or reception class for pupils aged 4-5 years.

The class teacher is Miss Beadle. She is assisted by Mrs Edgar and Mrs Fox.

We are lucky to be able to extend our classroom area immediately outside and use it all year round. Both the inside and outside learning environments are set up specifically to encourage independence in the way the children learn.

Inside our fully equipped classrooms we have a bank of computers, a reading area and, probably the most fun for the children, the role play area. Our role play area changes regularly to incorporate the children’s interests and the topics that we are working on, to reinforce their learning.

The children love the outside area and they can be found planting or weeding in the garden, on the climbing frame or designing games and adventures. The wild area, the unique climbing frame and the playhouse become the basis of games and stories that give free reign to their imaginations. We often find tigers and monkeys in our 'jungle', or explorers testing their physical prowess and the playhouse changes its role in life from a palace to a florist and beyond - even a hospital!
