Whole School Enrichment Weeks

We love whole school project weeks, which give the children a chance to work collaboratively with exciting workshops from outside experts.  Wherever possible these involve taking our learning outside, to make use of  our wonderful surroundings.

In Green Science Week this year the whole school enjoyed a day exploring the wonderful Leonardslee Gardens, walking there from school through the woods.   We started the week with a mind blowing workshop from Ali Khan of Stem Innovations and completed the week with a full day of outdoor workshops on Biodiversity run by Sussex Green Living, which included planting up our vegetable patches, learning all about fungi and it's crucial role in nature and a dance workshop all about ecosystems.  We celebrated the week and shared our learning by inviting our parents in for an assembly and set them some Green Challenges for the half term holiday.

Our children and our whole school community are passionate about looking after our natural world, as part of this week the children also took part in the Wastebusters Planet Protector Challenges.
